Giclee Color Print Tests for professionals

A picture paints a thousand words

When printing the biggest problem faced are the differences in density, tone or color of the artwork displayed in the screen and the final Giclee prints.

To avoid this, if you do not have a professional photographic screen, it is very necessary that you have calibrated correctly your screen before working with your image. We recommend to adjust its height at eye-level and for your image settings to have as reference only the central part of it. Also recommended to have a distance of 2 or 3 meters to get a more successful and accurate print of your retouched image.

Sometimes even with all of these cautions, it is possible that you keep finding differences between the printed image and the screen one. If so, the only solution should be to invest in a professional photo calibrated monitor.

To help in the screen calibration, IndieColors provides to interested artists, prior to final prints, a color test of the file or a trial printout to check the printing of the Art work free of charge. This way , all corrections deemed appropriateso can be performed on the screen before final printing.

The standard test print of the file will be printed on the final print selected paper, has a size of 15,5 x 21,5 cm.

Our State of the Art equipments such as professional screens for photography and graphic art and all printing devices are constantly calibrated and adjusted generating and maintaining updated and controlled our ICC profiles and Color management processes to continue offering highest quality Fine Art reproductions.

Our Fine Art Prints are made from the RGB mode. With 3 colors (red, green, blue) getting the full range of colors. Each of them takes a value between 0 and 255, with a total of 256 (256 x 256 x 256 = 16,777,216 different colors).

Our printing technique is superior to the traditional CMYK prints. Colors out of range or unable to print it won't have corrections even in the case of a test of screen or softproofing is been done.

Our print devices, the color images channels and the professional spectrophotometer with GretagMacbeth color science i1 with which we work, are integrated in a profile HPColor Center software creator, that allow calibration and profiling processes to have direct access to the writing system, providing precise control of levels of ink and color separations for each patch of printed colors .

This automatic measuring process eliminates the handling of test prints and provides exact drying times.

Thanks to this software we get fastest measurements due to the spectrophotometer electromechanical accurate placement on the color patch .

This system provides unprecedented effectiveness equaling or even exceeding the performance of offline manual profiling systems, slower and more expensive.
